Makes one cup. Multiply as needed to make a big batch.
10 ounces of water (about 1 1/3 cups)
3 whole cloves
4 whole green cardamom pods, cracked
4 whole black peppercorns
½ stick cinnamon
2 slices ginger root
¼ teaspoon black tea
½ cup milk
Bring water to a boil and add spices. Cover and simmer, 15-20 minutes. If desired, add black tea to steep a few minutes, then add milk. Remove from heat, strain, and sweeten if desired.
You can also just pour boiling water over the loose herbs in your cup, and let sit 10+ minutes before drinking.
